I've seen the grub shells all my life - and I've seen the full grown adult - but this is the first time in 46 years I've seen the emergence of the adult from the shell. Awesome! |

Ohhhh, I've always wanted to see a closeup of a locust shedding its shell. This is an amazing capture! As kids we used to pick the empty shells off the trees and put on our parents' clothes in the closet, LOL. Excellent! 9 |

Great capture. I can't figure out how they can attach the old shell to the underside of a limb, and after they crawl out, it just stays there. Great deail. |

Wow! This is just plain awesome! Of course the clarity and detail are to die for, but I love it when a photo like this has context that enhances it and makes it beautiful as well. |

If it had been possible for you to move that second cicada skin in the foreground, that would really help. It clutters the composition up. Otherwise this is a very nice shot - great work! |

The blurry patch in the foreground is distracting here I think, but what a capture! I have never actually seen a live cicada before I think...only the shells the leave behind. |
