This definitely stood out in my brief previewing. For me it references old ikons and the more modern pieta by Michelangelo. |

Someone thought the man looked disinterested. To me he looks truly and utterly awed, amazed by the creature in his hand and overwhelmed by what she means to him. |

The man looks uninterested. And it bothers me... 'cause WHO could be uninterested in this beautiful creation?

Interesting shot. Nice to see a man with the baby. His expression looks musing to brooding over the future. Not sure it is a look of pleasure. |

Somehow my attention is drawn against the young man holding the baby, but in a positive way. He has a very warm, fatherly kinda look in his eyes adding so much to the main motive. Beautifull photo! |

Well captured and presented. I like out-of-the-box photos and this meets my test. Thanks for showing us something new. |

This is very interesting! The brown water reminds me of India and I am wondering what he is doing with the baby......is it a religious rite of passage or just an early swimming lesson? |

Teach your children well,
Their father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picked, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.
CS&N...
Great image - hope this ribbons! |

Cool shot, but I am not fond of either of their expressions, nor of the pseudo-sepia. Seems like color or even straight BW would have helped this. |
|
|
03/12/2009 10:02:27 PM |
I think your choice of color on this doesn't do the shot justice. |
|
|
03/12/2009 08:27:39 PM |
Interesting scene, and great use of lighting to really bring the baby out as the primary subject. The sepia tint seems a bit strong. |
|
|
03/12/2009 07:50:00 PM |
Not sure I really like the color treatment here, but the comp and lighting work decently enough. |
|
|
03/12/2009 06:30:58 PM |
I really like this capture. The tones are beautiful. His gaze to the baby and the lighting draws my eyes to the little one (who is beautiful). I love it. |

|
03/12/2009 12:54:52 PM |
Back to comment and bump: I so want the man's eyes to be in sharp focus but then they would compete with the baby instead of compliment. This tension is worth a couple of bonus points. 9 |

the toning is too much for my taste. also think, the man's face should be as sharp as the baby's - they seem to be separated |

I keep being drawn to this shot. The large hand cradling the baby's head is awsome. It's difficult to read the man's expression. Is this a baptism? |

Very cool shot, something the family will treasure forever. |

Very nice tones and love the darkness of the water around the baby and not the man. |

Very sweet, love the tone and the water around the baby is incredible. Not sure about the lighting on secondary subject and the water behind him. |

It's such a strange image, strange enough to stop me in my tracks. I'm not certain if this is suppose to be a tender moment or not. We see babies, and the brain automatically wants to think awwww and cuteness...but this isn't. The wee one is being held with but one hand, almost like one holds a melon. And whom I assume is the father seems bored, if he can be read at all. There is an absence of tenderness, at least the sort of the tenderness that the general audience comes to expect in a parent/child image. Very intriguing photograph. |
