Thanks for all of the nice comments on the sunset. There were definitely a few things that I could have changed to make the picture better and I will apply those techniques to future entries.

Yes, those are good days indeed! The picture was taken at Fort Morgan, located in Alabama.

Great explosion of pink.
03/17/2009 05:25:25 PM
Very subtle. Good colors and framing.
03/17/2009 04:36:06 PM
Very pale, and the rod seems a bit lonely.
03/17/2009 09:17:57 AM
My favourite sunset of the challenge
03/17/2009 07:53:49 AM
I went fishing this weekend myself... Ice fishing. I was a lot colder than your photo. I didnt catch anything.

I like the colour in your sunset... nice pastels.
03/17/2009 02:47:11 AM
Nice colors and framing of shot.
03/17/2009 01:27:44 AM
Beautiful shot.
03/16/2009 04:26:35 AM
love the delicacy and the soft pastel colours .. :)
03/15/2009 11:52:13 PM
Caught a pretty pastel sunset there my friend.
03/15/2009 11:12:36 PM
I'm not sure if the sky was actually that pink?? It just doesnt feel right at that shade. Maybe if you had deepened the colors some?
03/15/2009 10:34:17 PM
Looks a little too light.
03/15/2009 09:42:11 PM
Very serene and peaceful
03/15/2009 08:46:56 PM
Glorious Gem!
03/15/2009 04:07:52 PM
Great capture with really nice colors. I would correct the tilted horizon.

Beautiful soft tones and colors with a decent composition.
03/15/2009 12:04:38 PM
Lovely colours, curious as to why you did not straighten the horizon. It's an easy fix.
03/15/2009 11:42:41 AM
I am not a fan of sunrise/sunset photos. They have to be really crisp for me. This is a little soft on focus and color for me. I like the composition.
03/15/2009 11:04:26 AM
bit flat but still nice ;)

This is very nice. Great simplicity and colour... But the horizon is crooked.
All photo editing programs have a rotation tool to flatten crooked horizons.
03/15/2009 02:12:36 AM
Did you catch the big one? Nice colors and simplicity.
03/14/2009 07:48:48 PM
The simple life.
03/14/2009 07:23:29 PM
Simple but effective.. love the colors and reflection.
03/14/2009 10:08:44 AM
Very nice shot. I like the soft colors. I'm curious what it would look like with the pole a tad darker.
03/14/2009 06:27:19 AM
Nice view of a fishing rod with this pastel colors.
03/14/2009 05:41:39 AM
great colours in the sky and reflection on the beach, I like the addition of the fishing rod
03/14/2009 03:27:10 AM
Now thats were I'd like to be now!
03/13/2009 11:23:02 PM
such soft pleasing colors
03/13/2009 10:25:39 PM
paradise for an angler. Lovely soft colors.
03/13/2009 09:45:07 PM
Without the pole it would be very uninteresting. Just a minor tilt to the horizon.
03/13/2009 09:03:29 PM
Nice colors. Maybe it's an optical illusion but it feels slightly tilted to the left. (I'm a nut about accidental tilt.) But the rod and reel seem to compensate so it's not bothering me here.
03/13/2009 07:51:16 PM
I would have darkened the entire image a little more. 6
03/13/2009 06:34:55 PM
Great colors, very nice picture!
03/13/2009 04:56:54 PM
i feel like the image could be more saturated. maybe a faster shutter speed could have helped to really give it some firm darks and solid colors
03/13/2009 12:03:44 PM
wow, this is beautiful
03/13/2009 10:40:09 AM
just a little flat
03/12/2009 08:13:47 PM
nice clors
03/12/2009 07:11:28 PM
A nice pastel sunset.
03/12/2009 06:46:00 PM
Good minimalist approach
03/12/2009 03:36:48 PM
Great color mix
03/12/2009 11:33:55 AM
I love the simplicity of this shot. Such a sense of peace and isolation. The cloud formation "spreads" the joy, and the reflection on the sand (with the straight strip of foam) adds dimension. The fishing pole really adds a theme and a purpose to make it more than just a pretty sunset.
03/12/2009 11:13:11 AM
Very nice colors -- a peaceful and serene shot.
03/12/2009 09:55:12 AM
Interesting pinkish color.
03/12/2009 07:30:40 AM
nice soft colors and leaving the fishing pole there adds some nice interest to this
03/12/2009 05:48:54 AM
Looks like my husbands paradise.
03/12/2009 01:58:08 AM
The coloring is very nice and soft. Good shot.
03/12/2009 01:29:21 AM
good composition; very nice tonal range in the sky... love what you did here with the reflection of the sky on the sand. Keep up the good work!
03/11/2009 11:00:17 PM
Nice pinks... With something this minimal, I think you should straighten out that horizon line.
03/11/2009 10:23:58 PM
Wonderful pastels. Nice use of fishing rod to add interest to an otherwise "normal" photo.
03/11/2009 08:03:09 PM
A very serene scene--I wish I were there. 6
03/11/2009 07:00:31 PM
Wish I was fishing now....
03/11/2009 05:04:50 PM
nice colors and composition, but a little over exposed, loosing detail from the sky
03/11/2009 04:23:48 PM
Lovely view
03/11/2009 09:45:22 AM
Man! So close...I really like this. The colors are fantastic and the subject and comp are a good fit. See a tilted horizon is frustrating when it's so easy to fix.
03/11/2009 09:29:21 AM
Simple and different. Its pretty but lacking some detail I think.
03/11/2009 08:20:54 AM
bit pale looking - slightly tilted - nice sense of solitude
03/11/2009 04:45:01 AM
too washed out more color boost would have made this a lot better
