A tribute to a dying breed. They have been receiving less and less quotas for fishing as the quotas have gone to the bigger groups of cronies. What was a tradition for many over generations is dying. And so are the families.

This photo was taken at Tieties Bay near Paternoster, South Africa. The big business in the town is now the development of holiday homes for the well heeled. Many are converted "quaint" fishermen's homes that were sold out for bigger money.

The rocks out in the bay reminded me of the small boats on the water and how it used to look when they were all out fishing.

Not much editing.Sharpen, contrast, resize, etc.

This is seriously under rated.

shame about the glare

I looked at the scene with my naked eye and I saw a glare on the water and nice light on the boats. Then I looked through my viewfinder and I saw a glare on the water and nice light on the boats. Then I took the photo. I looked at it and I saw a glare on the water and nice light on the boats - captured just as I wanted. Then I cropped a bit - and there it was. I was happy.

Now I know you grade 2 teacher told you something about glare in a photo........

They are about the same size as small businessmen. Too big for you to understand.

I love this, but I am not quite sure about the tilted angle. 8

Liked the line of rocks reflecting the lines of the boats. Is there some way of getting rid of whatever is in the lower right corner?
