I love elk! I think because they remind me of the Rockies. When it gets really cold, they hang out together in the valley by the hundreds, maybe thousands, and I think they make such a beautiful site.

Wow! That's some stunning majesty! Living in such a developed area, it's hard to imagine this is in the same country. I really need to travel and see some of these things before I die.

Magnificent capture Sandy. It truly is an amazing site seeing so many elk in the one location. I also agree with blad the foreground detail is just superb.

Love the tiers of interest - the river, ice bank,textured grass overhanging, the multitude of elk completely dwarfed by that huge mountain - a beautiful shot.

yes! a sight to behold! you have gracefully combined several images into one-the trees-the herd-the grass-and the river edge. the focus for me is the grass edge with all it's texture and flow. the overcast mutes and softens the image perfectly and allows for an excellent transition to the main subject-the herd.
simply a beautiful photograph with no tricks.
