I was at Edinburgh Zoo with my mum for the first time in a few years, checking out the new ape habitats and I saw this lovely girl sitting in her hay trough, looking so bored and unhappy and all alone. The weather was beautiful and she had plenty of things to occupy her but she chose to just lie there instead, it was very sad to see. I shot this through grubby, scratched glass, so was quite pleased with the result.
My last several challenge entries have been 4.something scores, I'm hoping to maybe break my first 5 in a while with this one. I would've submitted it to the Fauna challenge had it been in the legal date frame but basic editing wouldn't have done at all. I think the processing as always will ruin me score-wise, since I can't edit worth a damn. I did another edit which I much prefered but thought this one would do better. We'll see. I'm pretty sure the rule of thirds is wrong for this crop too but oh well!
Edit: Brightness/contrast using levels, crop, hue alteration, denoise, cloned some imperfections out, burned a few places, sharpen, resize and added a border. |
