 Didn't use a flash but a floodlight, dropping water with a syringe and using rapid shutter with a remote.

Edited and desaturated in lightroom.

Well, this is a nice shot... but I don't see much of an abstraction here... I can clearly tell what this is.

I think that using such a quick shutter speed defeats the purpose of the challenge in which you want to express the motion of the water.

I like this, but I think maybe a tighter crop on the rings of water and the "pillar" of water coming back up may have made it look more abstract.

I've been using the definition: "Of, relating to, or being a style of art in which natural objects are not represented realistically." Even though it's a nice shot, it seems realistic.
