Taken at the Philadelphia Zoo Sesquicentennial Celebration. Fun day! I wish I could have gotten the lady on the left alone, but I didn't want to hurt the other one's feelings, LOL!

Awesome job with the Topaz/Photomatix or whatever. Excellent detail throughout, although it does have quite the effect on their faces.

What you needed was the one on the left with the one on the right's umbrella. Really lovely costumes! I've often thought about trying to make something like that but where would I wear it? The grocery store?? :-)

wow kelli .. fantastic shot . really great .. lol about not wanting to ask the other lady to move .. isnt it difficult sometimes when you want something but dont want to hurt ppl's feelings .. especially when you're taking photographs .. the way i'd approach it is ask them if you can get both of them by themselves .. that way you get the one of the lady you want and the other one feels happy too ..
absolutely love the gritty processing and those amazing colours .. sounds like a great day .. :)

Oh, this is superb!! What a wonderful characterization and so much in keeping with the feeling of the era. I think the different ages of the two women play nicely off eachother. It's an excellent depiction and very well executed!

This is a lovely photo, Kelli, and interesting, and I like your processing. Not to denigrate the lady on the right, I can see what you mean. The lady on the left has star quality.

Kelli, you are so funny! I have had those sentiments so many times and bit my tongue and let the "not-as-photogenic" one remain. One time, I had the most gorgeous girl, and her boyfriend was the goofiest, most awkward thing I had ever photographed. I wanted to bad to ask him to go wait for us to finish in the car. Butttttt kept smiling and ended up with goofy looking photos.

But in your case, I actually do like both of them in the photo. It is true to the times. Those were tough times, and it wore hard on some of the faces. I think your photo conveys the times beautifully!
