Hurrah for tripods.
A 6.0 is coming my way.
Single exposure taken with the tripod about 3 feet from the lake shore in the water. This was much fun.
Processing consisted of taking a single exposure and exposing it once for the sky and another for the foreground in Lightroom. I got the 2 pics, then put a gradient layer-mask to get a smooth blend between the two pics.
I played with the levels a little bit, did a gradient map in soft light for the colouring to heat it up a touch. Dodge and burn on the clouds, water, rock and reflections in seperate stages.
I debated smoothing the water with Noise Ninja (or equivalent) but didn't like the smooth, glassy look for this pic as I think it looks mroe together (with the roiling clouds) looking tumultuous and turbulent.
And yes, this is very similar to my 'Eventide' pic, but I like these rocks, and that sky, and that lake, and hey, this is a different rock, so there.

| Great sky, I like the dramatic intimidating clouds, and golden color. Did you focus on the sky rather than the rocks? Good idea if so. |
