Closeup of a Raven Redfox, a musician playing in Albuqurque's Old Town. Raven Redfox's MySpace page
Note: My title was suggested by the musician. Quite appropriate, I think.
I had originally been attempting this for the "1 second exposure" challenge, but the chrome guitar was reflecting way too much light for a second long exposure, even at my lowest ISO and narrowest aperture. The blown highlights seem to work for this theme better, adding abstractness to the image.
Pre-challenge notes:
Not expecting much from this. A low 5 if it does well, but a 4 would not surprise me either. Hard to really tell with this sort of image.
Post challenge notes:
Did about as anticipated and hoped, placing mid-pack and on the positive side of a 5. It is not pure abstract, as it is identifiable, but It does have a strong abstract component and past challenges have shown me that there tend to be many semi-abstract entries like this.
Not sure what the black spots were caused by. Maybe long expsoure in strong light was the culprit. Wasn't sure I could clone those out under basic rules.
Here are some shots of this musician that I am far more pleased with, though they are not abstract at all.

Interesting processing. I like the hand. I'm thinking this is more motion blur than abstract though. |

lol, this looks like the player has a cloven foot (whoops, maybe he/she has?) |

Very different shot. I'd be tempted to crop it in a little from the right to get rid of the bits of black in the lower and lower-mid right. They keep drawing my eye... |

There are very beautiful spots in this photo. I'm not fond of the shape and color of 'hand', maybe it would have looked better if all was in the same color tone, like sepia or b&w. |

I like the shot, great motion, but not enough abstract. 6 |

Nice capture and processing. Unfortunately the spots on the hand and sleeve are a little distracting but still scored it well. |
