Shot with a Vivitar 120-600mm manual focus lens for Minolta MD converted to fit on Canon 40D body. The nest is about 200 yards from the shooting location. Waited over three hours for dad to come back with dinner, but this shot was well worth the wait.

This nest contains two adults and two juveniles, all of which are in this "family portrait"

What a great capture! the composition could be better, but what a chance to see the family at home :) Not sure what can be done about the natural lighting, I hesitate to turn the ISO up because it already looks slightly grainy. Look into lighting possibilities (as I am doing too)!
