 Taken in my backyard in the evening. I took shots all around it to try to get the best one. I think this one came out the best as far as lighting. I also liked the way the background color's came out in this one. I had some that had the grass in the background and thought it really matched the football theme but were too bright. The background color's in this photo, I thought, didn't try to pull your eye away from the main subject like the bright greens did.

I really need to get a light box. I could probably make my photo's look much better with one but I love natural lighting so much. Neighbors are going to think I'm weird setting up stuff like a football on top of a BBQ pit and taking 20 photo's of it.

Oh well

Good composition. I like where the word wilson is. Just enough to know what it is but not a dominant feature of the shot. The lighting sets off the texture on the threading quite well. Maybe a tad increased dof would help. Just enough to bring focus to the foreground texture but not enough to bring the background in focus.

This is a really nice shot. There's nothing negative I have to say about it. The Wilson word on the lower right just about seems neon.

nice photo, i like the crop. some of the highlights in the laces look a little bit blown out but i'm not sure how much can be done about that in a basic rules type challenge

No it's not - it's baseball season. :>) A well controlled concept and almost perfect execution of same. The edges of the lace white are over done but the eye is drawn to the pigskin first which lessens the white's impact. Properly focused and a complimentary background. A solid entry into the challenge.
