Spent the morning photographing old cottages at the National Trust villages of Luccombe, Allerford and Selworthy. Hard choice of which image to submit and it was a late decision to try a monochrome card. Not sure if it will go down well or not. Shot in RAW converted in ACR. Cloned out distracting (and modern) drain cover in street. Slight rotation to straighten, resize, smart sharpen, extended canvass, added text, stroke border and saved for web.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Great shot with good detail throughout. I like the B&W conversion. The use of the border as a place to put the text works really well here. Improvements? Not sure if I can think of any. Something to try would be to take your converted image and then hand paint some of the color back in.

Effective as a postcard because this image does make me want to see this place in person.

Great job.

Good b/w work. Nice and contrasty, but with plenty of detail. BTW, how did you manage to get a sunny day right when you needed one? I thought those were a special order item only.

So much detail. I might have centered the text, but that's my only nitpick.

no vote, commenting only, cool shot! looks like a scene out of Lord of the Rings. Nice contrast, wish there was just a little more drama in the cloud formations.

Can't get your 4X4 over there, can you? Very nice.

the sky makes the image as a whole a little stark

Very sharp, however, I'd rather see this in color I think.

Richly detailed. A few minor white blooms on the bridge keep it from being a perfect image, but they are so minor it's a very picky comment. I like the was the frame compliments the image and the font and placement are also complimentary to the image. Well done.

It's a nice B&W, the sky is to bright it washed out the clouds in the left hand coner.

I don't know where it is. Location should be on the card. I'm still giving you a 6 for a good photo.
