Hi E! Welcome to dpChallenge! I hope you are enjoying it so far ?? This is my favorite of all your daffodil photos. I love the fill the frame soft look for florals, and I like how you can see all the little dust pollens on the flower.

I guess you're figuring out already that people are not shy around here about constructive critique, huh? :) I think over my first 2 years with dpChallenge, probably the most significant thing I learned was how to toughen up my easily bruised skin :) But it was a good (if not often painful) thing, and I learned alot.

Goooood Luck to you and I look forward to seeing more of your photography!

since the focus is on the center part of the flower it is really important that it is illuminated and not darker and the out of focus parts. for some reason the petals of the flower seem to have a tiny bit of a greenish tint on my monitor (could just be my monitor although it is pretty spot on for colors) and i feel like it could benefit from a little work on curves and levels ( there are tons of threads in the tips forum b/c thats how i started everything too :) )

Another thing that flower photography needs is an even light, notice the harsh shadow line in the cup of the daffodil. That isn't pleasant to the human eye. You can avoid this by using something to diffuse the light....either a translucent reflector or something simpler that will let light through yet soften the shadowing
