 Helena is the Capital City of Montana. In 1894 Helena was the "temporary capital" and a statewide vote was cast between Helena and Anaconda to determine the Capital City. With rumors of vote buying and corruption Helena became the controversial Capital by a few thousand votes. Anaconda was so sure they would win that they built a small Capitol style building, which is now their County Courthouse.
