For such a small town - village? - it's interesting to see that there's an essential taxidermist. He must spend a lot of time stuffing possums that fail to trot across the road fast enough. |

Well, you certainly created an interesting submission! I'm actually surprised that there aren't bigger spikes at the top and bottom ends of the voting breakdown. I would have expected more people to love it or hate it. I see that you were going for a humorous entry. To be honest, I didn't see that in voting. In retrospect, I don't think you went far enough. The border and text work well toward that end, but the image itself doesn't convey the humor that well to me. The main problem I have is that it's way too small (and I'm practically alone on this issue, so feel free to ignore me completely.) Something that's 576px on the long edge just can't compete with a 720px submission in my book. |

I thought this was delightful and the tacky green border is perfectly appropriate! |

Me too!
The border is a bit much, but that's cool too for the scene and the post card look. |

Great city name! Good eye leading composition for the scene. Is there anything here more interesting than the main road through town?
Added: My red shoehorn, for adding a little humor to a non-humorous challenge.
Collect the whole set! Share them with your friends! Post it on your profile page! Recoil in horror at such tackiness! |

"I've been everywhere man...", though admittedly not to Possum Trot!
Don't like the green border, apart from that, really interesting shot, just the kind of thing I would buy as a novelty postcard! |

Can these people tell you what the possums call it when they play possum? This is a seriously postcard postcard - you shall be rewarded. |

This is a great image. The border really takes away from it though. A less pastel color would have done this postcard more justice. |

I smiled when I saw this - I think I've been there - Texas? Very evocative of small towns everywhere. From a technical standpoint, it's not a particularly stellar example of what a camera and lens can do - it's not really in focus, but then again, the point is Possum Trot. From a strictly appeal standpoint, it works very well. And it's funny. I like it - nice job. |

The border colors are really taking away the eye from the image. |
