Not sure if the blueish and orange shells or whatever they are in the foreground help or hinder. They are what they are though right? I love the way the waves lead me up to the rock.

Love this shot. Very well done. Would a double edged background make this even nicer(the white you have followed by a black board on the outside)? Well done. An 8.

The author avoided the temptation to make the image taller than necessary and that is a significant plus. The little spots of color enhance the figured beach sand and the background is properly composed and presented increasing the images effectiveness. There is an even more effective image if the top were cropped out presenting only the beach sand. Either way, it's a solid entry into the challenge effectively demonstrating natural world texture. A possible top ten, certainly a top 25.

I get more texture out of the stone formation in the background than the sand...like your colors and tones although
