Some challenge entries confused "pattern" with "texture", but not this one. I thought this was a strong entry. The texture really stands out and makes me want to reach out and touch the wood. The b&w was a great choice and not to go overboard but it really does remind me of the great Ansel Adams. So there! :-) |

This is probably the best of the shots with tree rings. Good composition, lighting, and processing. I like the choice to make it b/w. |

An interesting grayscale presentation - effective use of grain and lighting control. A solid entry into the competition, but lacking in visual appeal. |
