 This was an interesting setup. I basically smeared three colors of acrylic paint on my stomach, letting them dry between coats. Then I expanded and contracted my stomach as much as I could to get the paint layers to crack open and went to town with my macro lens.

greater dof and something added to the shot to give the eye somewhere to rest might work better.

A lack of DOF control hurts this image which would otherwise be a ribbon contender. A little more attention to the details of a macro shot would have improved this image tremendously.
