 This little bee eater was sitting on a barbed wire fence by a guest house we were staying at near the Indian Ocean in Mombasa. The background looks almost staged but it was actually a white cloud.

Natural light and good shade control - a little less impressive that it should be because of the blank background. Some detail would have helped demonstrate total light control. There are some highlights along the birds body which are a negative an unfortunate reflective by product of the birds feather spurs. A good entry into the challenge.

Beautiful bird, and I like the contrast with the barbed wire, but for this challenge, the lighting is not interesting.
