On my screen at work this is so dark as to be unviewable, with a strange fuzziness around the crane; on my home monitor there is some detail, but it is not a strong monotone conversion. The composition seems a bit one-sided, with little of interest in the left hand side of the frame. |

the exposure is bit low and that has brought down the contrast as well.. I guess might be due to the grey and dull atmosphere (cloud) |

A great concept and a near perfect capture. The lighting could have been a little softer, but as it is, it works well. Both a technical and artistic success, this should place high for it's technical merit and artistic impact. The image is a little small to provide a good look at theinteresting details. This would have been a better image in grayscale or black and white. A good solid entry into the challenge. |

It's a little dark, a different angle or more of the crane IMO. |

A little dark is the first thing I notice. The composition is awkward - it's like the train wants to run over the raised car. It's also a little strange that the tracks don't continue even though from the cropping it looks like the train continues. IMHO it feels awkward. |

The left hand side is distracting a tighter crop might help. |

If the silhouetted engine is the subject, then there isn't enough shape to be interesting enough for a subject. If the crane is the subject, then it shouldn't be in the center of the photograph. Just my humble opinion...I've never scored higher than a 5.4 ;) |

I think your photo is too dark to assess. |
