Adjust saturation
Replace background - I put a layer of black underneath image, then masked out the background on the image layer to reveal the black beneath. Then I went with a 1 pixel hard brush and erased 'hairs' from the black background and the mask to get the fuzz back. After combining the foreground and background, I used the smudge tool at 1 pixel & 70% strength to create a bit more fuzz to soften the fur to black transition.
Copy eye to new layer set to screen to brighten eye
Resize, USM, a bit of dodging around nose and mouth by painting white on a layer set to soft light mode

HAHAHA Now I'll be thinking of that "Ricky Don't Lose That Number" song all day. Love the processing. I haven't done the Orton so well. Maybe I should work on that. This is great.
