This doesn't look like salt to me. Best of luck. I'll give you 5 for submitting the photo and will hve to give you 1 or 2 more for the clairity of some of the grains. So all in all 7's not too bed for this.

Composition is good. Nice lighting to keep the salt from being washed out and being able to pick up individual grains in the pile.

Nice bit of macro work, but it just feels a bit lifeless. (A non-black background might have helped, but then I imagine it would be tricky to see the salt.) seasick - 6.
