Location: Toronto Zoo

Date Uploaded: Apr 18, 2009

This was taken at the Toronto Zoo... it's tricky taking pics there because almost all of them are through a scratched up dirty sheet of glass or plastic... I spent the whole day there, took about 400 pics, and only had about seven good ones. Honestly, that's more than I really expect... they needed a bit of tweaking, but I was pleased enough to buy a Season Pass... I went again this month, but it was a gloomy rainy day so all the animals were being lazy and sleeping all day...

Whoa... I am shocked at this score. This shot deserved a much better score than this. If its any consolation, my gf says that this is her favourite.

I have to ask, Is this animal real or stuffed? It looks a bit weird to me, unless it is the lean and somewhat glazy eyed look.

I love the look in his eyes - how cute!

A good solid image that is properly framed and composed although it could be a little lighter exposure. The image also suffers from the "tunnel" macro effect - meaning that the center of the image is in focus, but the foreground and background have DOF problems. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal. A good entry into the challenge.

Dead center composition seems weak in this case because the image area aside from the main subject are not very interesting. Consider a mcuh closer crop, and perhaps a color balance adjustment to reduce what to my eyes appears to be a mild magenta color cast.

The image is a little oof. This would be so great if in focus.
