 This poor little hummingbird had gotten himself into the porch window of a cottage we'd rented for the weekend. He didn't realise that if he turned fully around he could fly right out again. He mostly sat, but sometimes fluttered against the glass like a moth.

I got a towel around him and took him into the open. When I unwrapped him he sat just long enough to give me a look at him then off he buzzed. I was really nervous that I'd hurt him but was so glad I tried. Hummingbirds awe me. :)

What a lovely photo, and a wonderful story to accompany it. The cross reminds me of the Nowegian flag - love the way the Hummingbird is such an inappropriate qccompaniement to that imagery.
