This is a modeling portrait of a girl from my school. This was taken in the sand on the volleyball court and has very little editing. I cleaned up the eyeliner a bit and then converted to bw. This was taken with direct sunlight diffused with a translucent reflector.

While I am not sure what I was going for with this concept, I wanted there to be a kind of calm connection between the sand and sleeping girl and am very happy with how this turned out.

Ya know, last week while voting, I saw this image and just knew it was yours. I rarely score unorthodox portraits higher than 5, but this was an exception.

Lovely. The upside-downness was an excellent decision. 8

interesting pose and I like the subtle lines that draw you towards her face. Great capture of the texture in the sand.

A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way presented in a very good conversion format. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal. A good entry into the challenge.
