Sofia to the rescue again. It was a warm 78 degrees (our first really warm day this year) and I was looking for a beach where I could let my son play and the dog let loose. I found the place in Waterford, CT. I know I've milked this poor puppy for photos but she's beginning to really ham it up when the camera comes out. I've been kind of down lately. My wife has served me with divorce papers and has insulted me on whatever level she can find. Today she stated that I'm a horrible photographer. To her dismay, I'm okay with the guy in the mirror and have decided that I won't contest the divorce. I know I can be happy by myself....

Comparing similar dog images, I like this one the best. I like that the dog is well focused, and that you did catch him mid stride. The beach setting doesn't distract at all compared to the other dog shots, it provides a nice backdrop where the dog "pops" out in the photo. Nice DOF in blurring out the grasses in the background. This is a great shot.

An amazing viewpoint and something that one doesn't often see with darker faced dogs - rich and detailed facial expressions. While the image could use a little better crop, the vaguely detailed background compliments the intensity and joy of a fun run. An amazing image perfectly captured. One minor little technical issue in that the image is just slightly oversharpened, it is none the less a complete technical and artistic success. Should be a ribbon contender. Well done.

That doggy seems really happy. Maybe a touch overexposed. :~)
