 Considering I live in Melbourne, Australia, this shot couldn't have been taken further away from home, but I was lucky enough to visit several cities in California in April and this was one of several shots I was happy with.

The over bloom on the sun along with the rather featureless and dull sky, foreground and middle ground makes this a rather less than interesting image - there is nothing to really attract the eye as it is immediately drawen to the over done sun. A little more exposure controlw would have helped the image tremendously. A good idea less than perfectly executed.
