Sorry not to have commented sooner. I'm still catching up on my comments after voting on every photo of the last four challenges. :D

I initially gave this a higher score because of the excellent sharpness of the image. However, on second look I thought it was a bit busy and without a real focal point. The barrel is pointing at the white boat which seems to make the boat the focal point but it just isn't that interesting. The tripod thing interrupts the view. What really detracts from the photo is easily discernable strip of grass and parking lot which introduce the mundane into what is meant to be a dramatic shot.

I gave this a 6. What I like about is the focus, the composition and the color scheme. I am great fan of cloud shots and I like these in the background. What I did not like is the subject. Sorry I've gone very anti-violence. Also, while the composition is very favorable, I do not like the tilt of the picture with the horizon on an angle. Also what might have helped in this is a sligt crop on the left to remove the clutter from beside the 'target'.
Just do not have the time to comment anymore....hope this helps. If I confused you at all, let me know and I'll try to explain further. RoB

I gave this shot a four. I see what you were going for but I had to visualize a lot of it because of the angle of the shot. If you could take the shot from on top of the barrel or pole so you are directing the camera right at the boat it's aimed out it would have a much bigger impact. Also the colors are dull, hard to work with on an overcast day but with a little tweeking in an editing program, even with the brightness and contrast could really make a difference. :)

Hope this helps!

The barrel should be more distinct from the background. Should have taken this shot from sligthly lower and to the left.

I really like this but maybe witout the tilt, or with less tilt would have been better
