I took this at a camera club lighting workshop. The guy was a great model his hair was fabulous!!! I chose this one because the light was the most even in it.
Heres the original

I applied luko sharpening, then gaussian blur in softlight to soften it a little. Cloned out lots of white dust on the hat, brightened up the eyes a bit and wahlah!
I haven't entered a challenge for a year! Interesting it see how it goes ;)

Beautiful lighting! I really like this portrait, I'd also love to see it b/w

Saw a group of working cowhands earlier this month in SW Utah, with almost no similarity to this soft urban critter. Ignoring the title, very good portrait nonetheless.

good lighting, its hard lighting under a hat and still keeping it interesting, well done

A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. Well done.

Beautiful hair, but something a bit more edgy... possibly in b&w would take away the "pretty" hair. Also, I would like it better looking into the camera. He needs some attitude! Still, nice portrait and he should be pleased.
