Yes, I had the camera on auto ISO due to the fact that there was almost a 2 f/stop range between the center of the arena and the ends. Then they turned the lights off and used the spot light for this and I didn't even think about the ISO going that high. But it's not something you have time to adjust in a hurry, so there it was. I thought of doing some extreme noise reduction methods, but I lost too much detail and I didn't have my favorite plug-ins installed on the new laptop. I will reprocess it when I am home on the desktop. |

ISO 12,800?! Well, that certainly explains the noise ;-) |

Love the pose and lighting; wish there weren't quite so much noise but I guess this was a tough shot to get. |

I love the high contrast. The grain/noise is just a bit distracting. |

Stark lighting and low key appropriate for sense of sadness/finality. Image forms a good launching point for making up ideas about the context. |

Lovely back lighting and composition, but I find the noise on the face a little too distracting - did you try to bring up the light on that? Possibly a screen overlay may have worked more effectively, or leaving them a little darker would also be fine so its silhouetted |

There are two ways to look at this image. From a strictly technical standpoint, it has some significant faults which fail to provide a positive impression - from the over use of grain to the rather dark and unappealing exposure. On the other hand, given the title in combination with the technical issues, it is incredibly effective from an artistic standpoint - the author is trying to make an important point and does so. Benefit of the doubt to the author - well done. |

Very nice, the horse is excellent, the rider is a bit grainie and soft focus. But a GREAT photo. (8) |
