Its just before midnight on the 2nd May here so I am squeezing another one for day 2!
Im really tired though if anyone really wants the processing steps I will post them tomorrow morning :)

Ok for anyone that is interested I was inspired by gsal first class image. I remembered I had a similar photo from the same beach trip as my birds image.
Here is the original

This time I did a bit of work on the image before I even added an overlay. made a few adjustments in raw, luko sharpened and then added the action midnight sepia
cgino overlay 59%
sittingonthegrass multiply 56%
Dup colour dodge 36%
Dup hard light 22%
jutilda soft light 20%
colour dodge 32%

A little erasing here and there

I know she looks a bit sad but she isn't! Nimue is one of the smiliest happiest girls I know. I have really trouble getting my girls to pose and use facial expression and when i asked her to just stare into the distance and not smile this is what i got!

The overlays work so well with the girl's pensive expression. Love the golden colour too.

Everything about this is classic! The pose, the lighting, the combination of overlays...your baby looks so adult in this. Gorgeous!

Oh, I would so much rather see a natural expression like this than someone posing a smile that wasn't genuine, wouldn't you? And the expression is perfect for this dark grungy look.

Oh how amazing you are at this :)

Definitely edgy. Has that same film feel to it like the movies "No Country for Old Men" and "Traffic" - well done.

Such a pensive moment you captured. She looks more worried & thought provoking than she should be at that age!

the lost children
where do they go
sad but true
do we ever know?

I'm so inspired by this that I had to write a little poem. I think this is symbolic and I love your editing.

hey charlie .. how great to catch up with you again in a side .. :)x
this is the most excellent image .. i love your little girl's face and her expression .. almost sad but not quite .. she has a 'far away' look that's very beautiful .. i love your use of the texture .. you've created a piece of art .. this should be printed out and displayed in your home .. :)
