I like the light tones in your image. The sepia tint gives it a warm touch, which is however broken by the farmer's cold, hypnotic stare at the viewer. It makes me feel slightly unconfortable, as if he was saying "So, you were trying to steal these?". |

Thought this was going to take the blue ribbon. I like the character in your subjects face. Great shot.

Great portrait! I like the thoughtful look on the subject. Great choice of color on the image as well. Nice bokeh. 8 |

I never knew that bananas were grown by scary looking men. 7 |

You have a GREAT portrait of a very expressive face. Your lightinhg technique is near perfect with half the face in soft light and the other half in minor shadow. The sepia printing is perfect for the subject. Having said all that, I hope you took the same exact shot WITHOUT the bananas. They are so very distracting with the placement and the OOF. It just didn't work for you. |

Out of focus in the foreground distracts from an otherwise great shot. |

I like how the title and DOF both emphasize the farmer rather than the bananas (intentional?) Desaturation and composition also work well here. |

This would have been more successful if the bananas were not obscuring the lower half of hs face. I know you want the focus to be on his eyes but I think the bananas and his hand are a little too blurry. Could a happy medium be achieved where the sharpest details are in his face without losing all the detail in the bananas? The lighting is great and the subject appealing. There is a bit to much purple cast to the grays. |

My mind just does not picture this gentleman as a banana farmer, but I could be wrong. |
