As I write this my beloved free study entry is languishing, barely hanging on to a +5 score. So I thought I'd try a different approach! I've entered something I don't really like that much or have any attachment to at all.

I don't mind the compostition and it seems sharp enough. My home made light tent (a sheet drapped over my weightlifting cage!) did a great job of controlling the highlights (from my builders lamp) and it was taken with a wonderful 20 year old 50mm AIS series E lens off ebay for £50 so everything was manually set.

I'm not really sure it meets my interpretation of the challenge as I think it is more still life. It will be interesting to see what others make of it. Looking at the Table2 challenge there are a number of similar shots that are more still life than table top IMHO of course.

It would be nice if it was above 5.5 so my average increased but as I said, it could go either way. If it bombs at least I don't care this time!

Love the composition, the choice of fruit and plate and silverware all work beautifully together. 7

i like the simplicity and "cleanliness" of the shot. you have done an excellent job at controlling light and dof too. although i am not 100% convinced about the "table top" pov.

The red on the plate compliments this image and frames the strawberry so nicely.

very clean shot but does not create a differnt perspective for the challenge, maybe if the camera was further back..

Little issues like the spoon fading into the plate and the rather drastic white to red comparison effect this image in a negative way. While technically sufficient, it's artistic impression is less than perfect. A suggestion would have been to take a longer look at this image, less light to enhance the silver settings which would have brought the complimentary details of the plate edge into the image - the fade isn't as effective in this image as it is in others. A little higher angle would have helped as well. A good effort with some minor issues that effect the image as a whole.
