 An element of serendipitous interaction in coming up with this one. I was trying, unsuccessfully, to make a composition using some lemons. Robert (Bear_music) popped the skins of some orange quarters on the table. I remembered that the last section of skin had been used for zest then thrown away, and retrieved it. It was "logical" then to add the zest peeler. Later, after seeing my images, Robert suggested I add some zest tendrils and I tried that. I think it made for a more interesting composition, but by then the light had changed and the metal section of the peeler was getting blown out, and I just needed to get this wrapped up!! Minimal processing.

There is something oddly pleasing about this shot. Great clors, nice bokeh reflected on the surface. Maybe a bit of zest curls for added texture?

This is what this reviewer has been waiting for - a perfect minimalist construction that combines the minimalist meme with impressionist ideals - the abstract reflection perfectly compliments the solid and properly composed subject with the added feature of zest stripes on the skin of the orange. An excellant composition and still life complimented by pleasing tones and colors set off brilliantly with the zest scraper. An extremely effective image - well done.
