In light of the comments, it's worth noting that the colors are actually *there* in the original; I could amp them up with hue/sat if I were working from a more conventional perspective. The plastic and the glass tabletop, of course, both have prismatic components to them, so depending on angle-of-view one component or another of the light spectrum is being enhanced at any given spot in the view.

Hah! It wasn't intentional, it just dipped down as I was taking care not to splash boiling water as I transferred the potatoes from the container to the water for their blanching bath. Next time I'll use a stainless bowl :-)
