Challenge: Multiple Light Sources (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 5700
Location: Bk Studios Bradford, Ontario
Date: May 24, 2004
Aperture: f 6.7
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/8 sec
Galleries: Still Life, Digital Art
Date Uploaded: May 24, 2004

This seeded dandelion was backlit using a regular flashlite and then I used 1 lit candle to lite the 1 stray seed leaving the pod. It was kinda lucky...the heat from the candle made the seed jump off of the main flower. I hope it does well

Excellent shot! I really like this picture. Good color and focus. I don't think the multiple light sources are obvious, but I would still put this as a top 10 in this challenge.

Strong impression that what detail there is here is forced, through processing, rather than captured. I know it's a very tricky subject to capture, with there being such an amount of fine detail here, and display of very fine white lines on the internet, given the pixels, is tricky. But for me, here, there are too many jagged edges, and too much of the head of the dandelion is out of light or out of focus or just plain dark. Don't get any sense of multiple light sources either - there amy well be reflectors used etc., but we were asked for it to be 'obvious', and I fear that here it isn't - I'm certain this will hurt your score more from others than from me, however. 5

Very nicely done. I love the texture that you have captured. The black background is great.

Very interesting. Might have been a little better if the seed pod had been disconnected from the main flower a little, but what do I know?

I don't see multiple sources of light on this.

Wow! Love it. Dandelion seed head representing night time display of fireworks! And those seeds are definitely 'light'.
