I like the tones in this one ;) One hint for erasing.....check what layer you are on , if you want to erase that texture you need to make sure that you on that textures layer, I frequently get caught up with this ;)

personally I think you did good on the erasing...enough but not to much and no lines...this is what I am working on as well...(don't feel like I am having as much success!!)

Sweet photo - excellent emphasis on the eyes. Love your tones here.

I do not think it got trashed in the Free Study! You got some admiring comments, & a very nice score. (I got a 3.5 & almost got the Brown Ribbon). Pls explain what you mean by 'erasing application' so we can give you some free advice!

Oh that's beautiful. That's the kind of portrait stuff that people pay big bucks for.

You're on the right track. You really made the eyes and braces stand out!

Those eyes are riveting! Beautiful clarity in this protrait. I think Free Studies are the roughest ones to enter myself because they are judged so harshly, that's why I haven't entered any lately - too chicken! :) Bet this would of done better in a strictly portrait challenge.

Nice tones and processing. I am not sure what you mean by erasing application. Are you having issues deciding what opacity to use?
