I'm sorry but that is just silly, a mistake in communication should not be fatal to validation, no matter WHAT. If there is no physical evidence of you making the change you 'claimed' to have made, it should not count. |

Steps submitted: crop, exposure, wb in LR2, export to CS4, photokit sharpening to snail with mask, two curves adjustmet, hue/sat adjustment to master, created border, added text, resized.
When I created this poster I made an attempt to enter at the 200 file size limit, when it was rejected I realized it was a basic challenge. I remade the poster under the basic ruleset. Global USM produced the nearly the same results but with more artifact in the snail.
Lesson for me: keep a copy with the layers or write down the steps. If I had that I would not have made that error.

Ok, that's just plain dumb. I don't think that whatever you wrote down should count against your shot if the original doesn't show the modifications you didn't make. |

buggar ben ... i got a dq once after i'd asked not once but twice for advice on processing .. jilted it was in the black and white in colour challenge ... i think in that situation bad communication was at fault, them assuming i knew stuff and me assuming that they knew stuff .. but neither of us did !!!
i wrote to them telling them to undo the dq coz they had said my processing was ok .. lol ...
anyway after heaps of emails back and forth i simmered down and accepted their ruling ..
but it felt bad, especially at first, partly because i thought other ppl would think i tried to break the rules .. mine was getting a 6.5 at the time of the dq & dont think i was heading for a ribbon or a HM like this one got ..
i know my dq was different from yours, but hopefully the sc'll see that the editing steps you sent in dont fit in with this image and revoke the dq .. then of course i'll go to the second page again .. lol .. !!! ..:) |

This makes no sense to me. If you made a mistake, tell them and let them decide if it could have been done the way it really was done.
Really, Ben. If you didn't cheat, but said you did... then why not tell them now that you didn't? *sigh* |
I did tell them, but I can't expect them to take me at my word. |

You've got great bokeh going on here, I really like the almost vertigo feeling of it. I wish the slime was not there but I guess there is not much you can do about it in basic editing. |

Excellent! Evokes a mood of "What the Heck do I do Now?"
Even turning around and going back doesn't seem possible. |
