There's a group of folks who hang out on Nicollet Mall. I've met and photographed Robert, a Vietnam veteran. I've returned several times to give him prints. Today his buddies "Taz" and "Pig" joined in the discussion and were open to have their photos taken as well. Taz had just been roughed up the night before (surprising because Taz seems to be able to hold his own). He wanted a photo with his shiner. He also had multiple stitches in and outside his lip. I took a few shots of Taz and Pig and told them I'd return with prints in a few days. I even had Taz be a photo assistant, holding a reflector while I shot Pig (midday sun was harsh). Aside from the bad light, all was good.
As for grunge, this seems to be about as true as grunge gets. It's not the 90s grunge music scene, but I would say more authentic.
Post processing was in Lightroom 2 and CS4. I did a bunch with colors, clarity, sharpness, dodge & burn, curves, fill light and a few other tweaks. Added a border, saved for web.
