Photo was taken in mid-day with an overcast. Hand shot the photo while walking around the park.
The original image was slightly crooked, adjusted this through cropping. Adjust contrast, brightness, and exposure to get rid of some darker areas in the photo (with the overcast the photo was somewhat underexposed). Also brought the photo temp down slightly. As a result, the back of the bench brought out a little noise in the photo, so some small noise reduction smoothed it out.
Alone I thought the original was a bit boring and wanted to give some punch to the leather jacket, the wood grain, and the ripples in the water, so I adjusted contrast levels and layered it on top of the original, with about an 80% opacity, since it looked a little over baked.
Originally the top of the photo had parts of the Shipyard visible, which I cropped out in favor of just displaying the water since I felt it distracted from the photo.
Ideally I would have liked the top of the bench to line up flush with the fence, but the ground sloped a bit.
EDIT: Not a shark, but a buoy. |
