 This woman is one of the performers at the Scarborough fair Renaissance festival every year. I entered a photo of her in a freestudy last year. She's changed her costume a little since then. Shot with mostly existing light and a touch of fill flash.

Did a lot of layer work on this to get just the right look to her face, costume and background. I'm pleased with it.

Pre-challenge notes:
Not totally sure how this will be taken in voting. I suspect her historical appearance may not fit with everyone's definition of glamor. I'm expecting most of the entries to be model shots by some of the professionals on this site, so I know I am up against heavy competition in this challenge. A mid pack finish and a score in the mid to high 5's would be nice.

Anticipated critiques may be:
-Not their idea of glamor
-Her face looks pasty. (Actually it IS. Her makeup was white and I did a lot to even out the appearance. But that is what she looked like.)

Post-challenge notes:
I was surprised to find this coming in within the top half after some pretty hard voting and some critiques I had not totally forseen. One comment referred to the background being too busy. I'm glad I spent some time on it, as it originally had a large branch coming out of her hat, and I also blurred the background a bit more.

Not shabby for a found shot in a challenge favoring models in studios.

If only the lighting had been more on her face, and not just the tiny line at the back of her shoulder...

The play of the complementary colors is nice here. I wish that the woman was not in shadow so much.

Nice work with the model, costume, and getting a well focused image. The background is WAY too busy and doesn't add anything to this at all IMO. If anything it takes away from the presentation. Just my opinion. Good luck.
