Snapped this shot in the park this morning with my "purse camera". I spotted it while doing my exercise routine. Wish I had a nicer foreground.

I wanted the cloud to be dramatic without making the sun rays seem fake. That was hard. I had to mask the blue on a lot of the Topaz layers.

- Color Balance adjustment to remove blue cast
- TA custom layer for exposure and detail
- TA smooth and flat preset
- TA custom layer (lighter color mode) with noise reduction
- Another color balance layer to reduce blue cast that Topaz added to the cloud
- Noiseware
- Removed a palm tree
- TA HDR Mild preset 75% opacity (lighter color mode)
- Soft light layer to lightly burn the corners
- Adamus sharpening

i really like how the details in the clouds are pulled out through your processing - thanks for the detailed description of the steps!

By custom layer do you mean you just open a layer in Topaz and play with the sliders for what you want to do? Really a nice edit on this one and superb job of removing the one tree!

Love how it brightened this up and made it pop.

fascinating cloud formation. If I saw one of those, it's entirely possible I'd run for cover (thus getting that exercise routine done in double time!!!)

This is pretty cool. I have your original and edit open in separate tabs, and going back and forth between them makes it look like there is a giant lightbulb inside the cloud that is turning on and off.

A nicer foreground? Are you kidding? "Oh, what, THESE little waterfront condos? These old things? Pshaw..." ;) Kidding aside, nice job with the processing, and good job cloning out the scrubby tree.
