she drove across the desert
her suitcase barely packed
her heart was bright with promise
a serious plan she lacked
she made it half past Texas
and knew she'd met her home
for she had found her cowboy
her heart no more would roam
she sent her mom a postcard
with "wishing you weren't here"
she signed it with a heart
and sealed it with a tear
the dry and dusty landscape
would be her new found treasure
for happiness is anywhere
there's love too deep to measure
