This is Socorro Peak, also called M Mountain because of the big white M painted on it in honor of New Mexico Tech which was once known as the School of Mines. You can't see the M from here :-) This was taken a couple miles from my house on a dirt road that leads back to a little nature area. As you can see it is surrounded by farmland.

This is two images stitched together with CS3. I just noticed some compression artifacts around the mountain/skyline border, oops, the image is larger than 800 pixels so is being squashed for this page...

And for those who wondered about the 'M' (roz & utg), here is a different view where you can see it :-)

Composition is good in this because of your POV and the clouds completing the horizontal lines theme. That works nicely with the pan and keeps the flow going from one edge to the other. I like the color contrasts as well.

Very nice pano! I may have to try a few of these myself - hard to give the full impression of some things without them. Very nice the way the gold stands out against the dark green. And a lovely view!

Beautiful, vast, so open-feeling. Not like the city at all! ;)

This has worked really well. The colors are subtle and work to be interesting but not overbearing. Nice.

The panorama really works here -- you really have the feeling of the wide-open spaces.
