Here's a closer view of M Mountain (Socorro Peak) from a different angle than before so you can see the 'M'. I took this from the Walmart parking lot (had to cut out the clutter below). Walmart is the only store in town that carries a bit of everything. Socorro is a very small town, about 8,500 people or so. Socorro county has a population of about 18,000. I love it here because of the low population density; 18000 folks in a total area of 6,649 sq mi (17,220 kmĀ²) is not bad! The town I'm in, Polvadera, is about 10 miles from Socorro and has a population of about 400.

Below is the first image I posted of this mountain. What you see in this image is a more southern view of the jutting out part at the left in the image below.

Beautiful tones and feel to this gem. Looks just like a beautiful local painting.

You certainly get some fantastic skies!!! You've done a wonderful job with the processing here. The image itself is very nice too and I think if you could even add an extra element (perhaps a bird, animal, hiker)to this.

The detail on that mountain is fabulous. You are so lucky to consistently have wonderful clouds in your images!

We have a local flat topped butte called Table Mountain which is adjacent to a town called Oroville. On the side of Table Mountain above the town is a large O made of white rock. Marking your mountain is clearly a tradition shared by communities around the world. Wouldn't that make an interesting challenge?
