 While riding along with my husband, we came across this scene, today. Now tell me when you think of New Jersey ... have you ever envisioned this?????

Would never have thought of this being NJ. Maybe PA lol I did see a Peacock crossing a road like this in front of me. Of course I had no camera.

I think he is parading his wonderful costume.
I know New Jersey is pretty urbanized but I don't know enough about it to know how unusual this lovely rural scene might be.

As a child we would come across this situation quite frequently with pheasnts and my father would drive at them in the hope of getting a meal out of it lol
He seems to be quite relaxed and not at all fearful of you eh, nice capture

He has some awfully long tail feathers. No doubt, crossed the road looking for Mrs. Rooster. :)

Great to actually see some of the less urbanized New Jersey environment instead of the usual relegation to obscure footnote in a piece dominated by urban/industrial structures.

Funny how intuitive Roz was ... this fella changed directions a couple of times ... giving me time to get four/five shots!!

This is not my vision of New Jersey. If you were on Kaua`i that would be different, our unofficial bird is the chicken. Your rooster doesn't seem to mind the photo op and blends nicely with his black and white coloring. I like the leading lines up the hill beyond the rooster as well.
