Really funky flower I saw at one of the local garden parks. I may have to find out what it is; I just love all the shapes and textures in it. The title is in reference to all the very different parts making a whole while still doing their own individual thing, if that makes any sense. And purple is just because it's my favorite color, and I liked how it came out. I felt like it needed some color to be a Jazz image.
The dark line is a leaf from a different plant. Thought it added some compositional interest, like a theme running through a piece of music unifying the riffs. Although ... the light bits crossing it look like someone's hand playing the dark line like a clarinet, which must have blown the flower into existence.
Maybe getting a little overimaginative with this one ;-)
PP - converted from RAW, B&W conversion, tinted hue purple, increased contrast, cloned out a couple of dust spots and a bit of leaf and a bright spot, reduced noise, blurred background more, resized, sharpened, hand sharpened/blurred some more, added border. |

| This is nigella sativa, or love-in-a-mist. Nigella seed, or kalonji, are used in Indian cooking. The seed cases are fantastical papery bulbs that are also fun to shoot. |
