 Today I noticed that the top blossom appeared to have its arm around the lower blossom. A few days ago another blossom had fallen, and so I thought it looked like one flower was trying to comfort the other. I placed the fallen blossom on the foliage to give the feeling of loss.

Update: This was on display at the Boca Raton Museum of Art during July and August 2010.

I thought this was very touching, very poignant, and it did remind me of your other shot, though at the time I didn't connect the two. Beautifully lit, beautifully photographed. I think you more than accomplished what you set out to with this one.

This is beautiful. I love the detail in the orchids and the lighting is fantastic. I would have liked it without the fallen bloom too.
