 I bought a soccer ball and a net ($30 total), then I went to the public park and attached the net to the goal. Prefocused and had my brother do the throwing, 20 takes, this one was the last. I never noticed the two birds when I took the photo, but I don't mind them being there.

wow thats so cool how the birds flyin are so sharp and the ball so blurred, yee i like this pic a lot, well mee cuz i play soccer haha naw its awesome, congrats!

Congrats on a cool pic. Really does give a sense of the sport. But I have one question, how did you get so much motion blur at 1/320 sec?

I thought this would finish in 4th or 5th place, so "Thank you very much" to everyone for their comments, votes, and for giving me my second ribbon. I guess the $30 I invested into executing this idea paid off! i'm glad you liked it.

Don't know if you planned the ball between the clouds - but it's perfect. The blurriness of the ball and net is also super. Perhaps a bit centered, but easily fixed by cropping some from the left.

Wow, I'd like to see a 'how did I do that' at the end of the challenge. first thought was football (soccer) but maybe volleyball? I may be wrong but not sure the birds I'd have kept the birds in the shot (9)

I tried to do exactly this idea, but didn't have the cooperation of a perfect blue sky with lovely clouds. This is nice, my implementation was with more motion trail, but this works because you get clear motion on the net. -7

Nice shot, and perfect shutter speed. The movement of the ball is blurred, yet some of the net is still sharp! I like it! And theres some birds in there too. lol
